The mustang behind the name of Wild River Energy Healing

When I was trying to think of a name for my business, I wanted to incorporate the horse that gave me the inspiration to pursue certification in energy healing. I first saw River on the Southern Utah Wild Horse and Burro Festival page on Facebook back in September of 2021. She was part of a TIP Trainer challenge that would be offered for adoption at the end of October.

She is a 4 year old solid bay mare from the Range Creek HMA located in Utah. She was captured in 2019 and had been in holding until she was chosen for the TIP program. Her trainer brought her home and began the gentling process. She was challenging and had a severe phobia of ropes, which has improved significantly with time and patience!

From the moment I saw her photo, I just knew there was something special about her and that I needed her in my life. I followed her training progress and asked a dear friend of mine, who is a Reiki Master, to see if she could communicate with her through a distance session. She told me that she was going to be a little bit difficult due to her reluctance to trust but that she was so willing. She said she needed confidence and someone that she could trust to build a solid bond.

After the show, she went up for adoption in an auction setting where I was lucky enough to be the high bidder and brought her home. She has been slow to trust and has taken quite a while to get her to even let me put her halter on but she is improving each day. Reiki energy healing sessions with her have helped tremendously to get her to let down her guard and start trusting me.

I can't wait to see what she becomes because I know she is capable of so much. She is smart, athletic, and loving. Good things come to those who have patience and understanding in the training process with mustangs. It is an experience I feel lucky to have and am looking forward to the next steps!
